Bees are in trouble, and we need to help them! Around the world, bee populations are shrinking. This is a big problem because bees do something very important: they help plants grow.
When bees fly from flower to flower looking for food, they carry pollen with them. This pollen helps plants make seeds and grow fruit. Without bees, many of the foods we love would disappear. Apples, strawberries, almonds, and even chocolate all depend on bees!
Scientists believe bees are dying because of pesticides, which are chemicals farmers use to kill bugs. These chemicals also hurt bees. Another problem is that bees are losing their homes. When people build new houses and roads, they often remove the wildflowers that bees need.
You can help save the bees! Ask your family to plant flowers in your yard. Dandelions, sunflowers, and lavender are all great choices. You can also build a bee house out of bamboo sticks. Most importantly, tell your friends and family why bees matter.
Together, we can make sure bees are around for many years to come!
