Each place is worth 10 times the place to its right!

Rounding with Number Lines
To round, find which benchmark the number is closer to.
Example: Round 274 to the nearest hundred.
274 is closer to 300, so 274 rounds to 300.
Steps to Round:
- Find the two benchmarks (multiples of 10 or 100) the number is between.
- Draw a number line between them.
- Mark where your number falls.
- See which benchmark it's closer to!
