Let's Practice! Read This Passage:

Amazing Animal Adaptations

Animals have developed amazing adaptations to survive in their environments. For example, polar bears have thick fur and a layer of fat called blubber to stay warm in the freezing Arctic. Their white fur also helps them hide in the snow while hunting. In the desert, camels can go for weeks without water because they store fat in their humps. They also have special eyelashes that keep sand out of their eyes. Scientists study these adaptations to learn how animals survive. These adaptations show how animals have changed over millions of years to fit their homes perfectly.
